Blessed Earth® Detox Clay Bath by Evenbetternow LLC is 100% pure sodium bentonite clay with the highest cation exchange capacity (CEC of 98–107 meq/100g) — or "pulling power" — of any bathing clay we’ve tested on the market. Selectively mined in the mountains of Wyoming, this high-purity, air-classified sodium bentonite (montmorillonite) consists of micronized particles that dissolve easily with virtually no clumping.
Bathing in sodium bentonite clay supports the body’s natural detoxification processes — a gentler, faster, and more effective method of detox with few or no detox reactions compared to protocols that require processing impurities through internal organs of elimination.
Key Benefits

- ✅ Hypoallergenic — safe for sensitive individuals and weakened immune systems
- ✅ Supports natural detoxification — environmental contaminants released through the pores into the bath water

- Swells 15–20x when hydrated — dramatically increases negatively charged surface area for unparalleled toxin exchange
- USP-compliant — meets all requirements set forth by USPXXIII/NFXVIII for bentonite bath preparations
Available in two sizes: 4 lb bag (5–10 adult baths) and 1 lb sample/trial bag (1–2 baths).

Precautionary note for septic system homes:
If you are on a septic system, we recommend using the clay in a foot bath rather than a tub bath, as your septic system warranty may be voided. Under normal conditions, clay will not stop up a properly functioning septic system — heavier particles settle to the bottom of the tank. However, never flush lumps of clay down any drain. Use at your own discretion if on a septic system.

This is my first time using Bentonite clay, so I can’t really compare it to other products on the market. I can tell you that I followed the directions, and it dissolved easily, leaving my bath water an opaque grey color. I used about a cup for my smallish bathtub. I did feel good after the bath, but honestly that could be just from having a nice relaxing bath. I am trusting that it pulled some toxins from my body during the soaking process. I am a little concerned about the warnings on the bag about dust inhalation—silicosis is no joke. I hadn’t realized that Bentonite clay contains silica. I will probably not reorder for that reason.
My daughter told me to order this after I had to get a couple of CT scans. She told me that it works well. I put it into the water in my bath and got in. It felt like a mud bath. Soothing but strange. I am not sure it helped get rid of the extra radioactivity, but it didn't hurt to try it.
Have to be careful when pouring it but other than that, created a nice relaxing bath for me. Unsure if there are any benefits beyond just a nice calming bath.
I’m sensitive in all sorts of ways & pay heed to warnings when they pop up. This particular clay bath ha a prop 65 warning for the clay that it contains, stating that you need to wear a mask to administer it to your bath to avoid inhalation of the dust. I’m averse to using products that have warnings like this, but appreciate that Blessed Earth is covering all bases by actually including the warning in the first place.I also have a jetted tub & it states on the label that it can’t be used in jetted tubs (or jacuzzis & hot tubs). All things considered, I will not be using this after all.Unfortunate too, because everything else about this clay bath looks great. Made in the USA with no fillers sounds good & might be nice for those without the heebie-jeebies & normal tubs.
I have used bentonite clay masks before, but this is the first time I have used a full-body soak. It is... Different. It will turn the bathwater murky grey. It feels nice though, and makes the skin feel softer, but DO NOT get this in your hair. I soaked in the tub with my hair down without even thinking about it and had major regrets afterward. The texture it leaves feels awful, and even after I washed it seemed to leave a residue. If you get it in your hair, you will definitely want to wash/rinse/condition all with clean water. You have to be careful about the way you add it to the water, spreading it thinly across the surface, so that the clay hydrates and doesn't clump up. (And also be careful not to breath in the dust, which is very fine). Or else, you will end up with, well, moldable clay. Which, you can also just play around with in the bath until it dissolves if you want. 😄 It dissolves well into warm water, but will settle to the bottom eventually, so you need to keep swirling the water around. This also applies when you drain it out. It may take a few rinses, but it does go down the drain without leaving a mess behind as long as you watch it. Be careful getting in and out, as it can make the bottom of the tub slippery, especially once it settles. If you have ever worked with pottery, clay thinned out with water is literally called "slip".Good thing this is safe for septic tanks (according to the bag) as long as it is not clumped up, because I didn't even think about it until I had already dumped a bunch in the tub. However, I imagine it is still best to keep solid inorganic matter out of there as much as possible, so I tried to scoop up what I could after the water drained and threw it in the garbage before rinsing. It is very hard to gauge the effects, specifically of toxin removal. Perhaps you would be able to notice over a length of time, but it just feels like any other bath for the most part. Bentonite clay can also over-dry the skin, so if you have dry or sensitive skin, or live in an arid environment, you will want to make sure to follow up with moisturizer after your bath.
This clay bath was easy to use. It does take an effort to mix as it gets clumpy but a lot of these types of products do too. It was soothing and relaxing. Did leave small amount of residue to clean the tub after.
I tend to enjoy bath products for the vibe more than anything else, and this is a nice variation on a bath bomb or epsom salts or whatever that can produce a nice bath and some sort of effect - placebo or otherwise. The powder dissolved nicely in about 5-10 minutes. It did leave a slight film on the tub as it dissolved that was a little bit slippery, but it disappeared when I ran a hand over it and did not reform.
Easy to use for baths. I used a lesser dose as suggested because of my sensitive skin. It may clump but I just stirred more in the hot water. Didn’t leave a lot of residue, but definitely some. It also says to drink plenty of water, which I did and had no problems.
This clay powder provides a nice athome spa experience. Awesome way to soak, relax, and detox. The poderdisdolves better than most other clays have tried.
This dissolves well in the bath water. It's natural which is wonderful but the scent is lacking. My skin feels a bit dry after using this but not horribly. It is extremely relaxing. The bag is huge and will last for a good while. It didn't leave a film in the tub after draining. Overall, I would recommend it.
I’ve used benzonite clay in a face mask before many times, so I was really interested to try this clay for my whole body. The clay has no noticeable scent and dissolves well when added to my tub water, I added 2 cups and soaked for about 20 mins. I rinsed of so no residue was left behind, my skin felt clean and nourished. I like that’s this product cleans toxin and impurities, that’s daily we just wouldn’t see. It’s 100% clay with nothing added, which makes me feel better about using it.
This is great for baths. Helps get rid of impurities. Your skin feels clean after use. Doesn’t leave the tub all weird with a film or anything. No real noticeable scent either.
I love using bentonite clay. This is a fairly good sized bag although the price point is three times higher than others.I put this a in my bath ccording to the suggested amount. It's important not to use this in a steel tub or use any metal scoops of mixing utensils as it will diminish the effectiveness of the clay. I soaked for 20 minutes and dried off naturally without rinsing.I also liked this as a face mask solution. It left my face feeling very tight and silky. I definitely would recommend this one.
