Informational Water Chemistry Report - Profile 20

Trace Elements Inc. offers an Informational Water Chemistry analysis for purposes of determining regulated and non-regulated metal content in drinking water. Their water chemistry parameters consist of metals designated as Primary (Health Related) contaminants and Secondary (Aesthetic or Nuisance) contaminants in drinking water. Additional metal contaminants and parameters are also reported that currently are not designated in either of the above categories by the E.P.A., but that may still have a significant effect upon health.

It should be noted that whether the originating source of the water is from a municipal regulated water supply or a private water supply, it is quite common for drinking water to become contaminated even after it reaches the home plumbing system. High acidic water and/or deteriorating home plumbing can allow heavy metals to leach from pipes. As a result of contamination, excessive levels of some metals in drinking water may have a deleterious effect upon certain individuals with predisposed sensitivities, or may also contribute to further elevation or imbalances of levels already found within the body.

Informational Water Chemistry Report - Multi-Element Assay (22 Elements) and pH Level

  • One copy of the test results in an easy to read graph format.
  • Testing includes all metals currently listed as EPA Primary (Health Related) and Secondary (Aesthetic or Nuisance) Regulatory Drinking Water Contaminants in addition to other potential contaminant elements. Test also includes Fluoride and pH value.
  • Contains brief informative listing of potential causes, risks and/or effects of elevated EPA recognized contaminants.

Primary (Health Related) Contaminants Measured

When test results exceed the EPA's Primary standards for drinking water, it is considered to be unsafe to drink until the problem is corrected.

Antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, copper, fluoride, lead, mercury, selenium, thallium and uranium.

Secondary (Aesthetic or Nuisance) Contaminants Measured

When test levels exceed the EPA's Secondary standards for drinking water, the water is usually displeasing to drink. The water may leave stains, have an odor, color, corrode plumbing or have other displeasing characteristics.

Aluminum, iron, manganese, zinc and pH levels.

Additional Contaminant Metals

Calcium, magnesium, nickel, potassium and sodium.

Please Note: This water test is intended for informational and research purposes only and should not be used for regulatory and/or legal purposes.

Testing: All testing for EPA Primary Regulatory Contaminants are conducted by methods approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). All testing for Additional Contaminant Metals are conducted using variations of EPA methods.

How Do I Get My Report?

Once you place your order for the water chemistry test, we will send you a kit containing a sample jar, submittal form with instructions, and a prepaid Priority Mail box to mail your sample directly to Trace Elements Lab in Addison, Texas. Once they have processed your sample (analysis can take several weeks from time received by lab; in fact the lab requires a certain load of pending water tests before they will begin the analysis) they will mail a printed copy to us, which we will forward to you via First Class USPS mail.

More Information: For more information on EPA guidelines, regulations and discussion of the drinking water contaminants that may be found elevated on a water test, please visit the following website: www.epa.gov/ogwdw/contaminants/index.html.
