There are 34,000 pesticides and herbicides registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as 65,000 other chemicals. Over one-fourth of the 4 billion pounds of pesticides used in the world are used in the United States. Each year, 10,000 chemicals are being synthesized by industry and added to the over 1 million already in existence.

Environmental toxins are chemical toxins that come from outside the body via air, water, food or direct contact with the skin. For toxins to be harmful, they must gain entry into the body. They do this by four methods: 1) Through the lungs by breathing toxic air;  2) Absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, mainly from foods;  3) Through the skin by direct contact;  4) The blood vessels of the placenta – a transfer from the mother to her baby.

High CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity)

EBN® Bentonite Clay has the highest cation exchange capacity, or negative ionic surface charge, of any clay we have sold (a “98 - 107” meq/100g on the CEC scale).  This means that it has a superior “pulling action” for drawing toxins out through the pores of the skin. 

Mixing EBN® Bentonite Clay with very warm water creates a high negative ionic surface charge, which draws any “positively charged” particles, such as mercury, lead, aluminum, pesticides, insecticides, food additives, nicotine, and any inorganic residues through the pores of the skin.  The toxins are drawn out electro-magnetically.

Disperses Easily in Water

Unlike most bentonite clays, EBN® Bentonite Clay disperses easily in water, with minimal clumping.  This is highly desirable, since there is little mixing required and the clay does not adhere to the skin the same way other bathing clays do.

EBN® Bentonite Clay may be more effective than a “clumping” clay since it has a bigger exposure of its surface area to toxins.  With the clay possessing both drawing and absorbing capacity, its detoxifying properties are exceptionally high.

EBN® bentonite clay is edible (only pharmaceutical grade is safe to eat) and can therefore be used as an internal clay for cleansing. Eating our clay is an excellent way to absorb toxins from within the body and help in the overall detoxification process.

Suggested Use: For adults is 1-2 teaspoons (mixed in 6-8 oz purified water) daily for as long as needed (Children can take 1/2 teaspoon daily). Please allow the clay to sit in the water for 10 minutes, then stir before drinking. Follow the clay water with another 6-8 oz glass of water and eat plenty of fiber to ensure easy passage of the clay through your gastro-intestinal tract.

In addition to being an excellent internal detoxifying agent, our clay can be very helpful for acute upset stomach, indigestion and diarrhea. We do not recommend taking clay internally on a long term basis.
