Glyconutrients: Sugars That Heal |
|
|
Volume 2 Issue 3 - March 2008 |
|
“I really believe that glyconutrients are something that will become mandatory for overall health ..., And when I would do searches on glyconutrients, and especially on a lot of different disease processes, I was floored by the number of quality studies that are out there that have shown such benefit and promise in a myriad of diseases ranging from diabetes to arthritis."
"I believe that glyconutrients are going to become a staple nutritional supplement for all six billion people on the face of this earth within the next two to five years.”
- Rob Ortmann, MD Immunologist and Research Scientist |

The word “neutraceutical” is an unofficial term that came from the combination of nutrition and pharmaceutical. The word is meant to describe natural food-based substances that have pharmacological (healing) effects on the human body. Neutraceutical is a relatively new term used by the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine for all natural, standardized, non-toxic dietary supplements designed to optimize health through improved nutrition.
Glyconutrients are plant-derived sacharrides or sugars. They are a more specialized type of neutraceutical.
Glyconutrients are cellular identifiers. What they do is form a bank of terminals on a cell. These terminals are what everything else uses to attach to the cell. Everything else includes other cells, hormones and molecules, as well as toxins, viruses and bacteria.
Glyconutrients are bound to a protein, making them glycoproteins, which is their final stage of development within the body. Once glyconutrients become glycoproteins, some of the functions they perform are as follows:
|
- a structural role in the form of collagen
- a transport role in transferrin
- an immunologic role in the form of
immunoglobulins
- cell to cell communication with selectins
- proteins in fertilization
- cell adhesion molecules
- cell signaling by becoming receptors
- clotting by becoming plasma proteins and
lipoproteins
- lubrication by becoming mucins
- help create new adult stem cell growth

Many of our customers have written to us that they didn’t think the glyconutrients were helping them - until they stopped taking them! They reported that their symptoms got worse after stopping, and realized when they resumed the EBN® Glyconutrients they felt much better, their energy levels were higher and their symptoms decreased.
Along with our EBN™ Detox Clay Baths, the Evenbetternow™ Glyconutrients is our most popular product. |
